I have the kind of look people usually describe as "gloomy" or "awkward." People who look like me don't tend to get the warmest reception, but I am who I am. As long as I keep clean, I don't think anyone has the right to complain, though it still bugged me deep down. But then something happened that completely blew those feelings away.
One day, I arrived early for a meetup with a friend and was waiting around at the train station. Suddenly, a voice spoke from behind me: "You're too gloomy to possess." Irritated, I thought, *Huh?* and whipped around with a glare.
Based on the voice, I assumed it was a man, but there were only women around me. As I glanced around trying to figure out who said it, a strange sense of unease hit me, and I looked up. Floating right there in midair was a skull with long hair hanging from it.
You might think, *What are you talking about?* but I'm just describing what happened, and I honestly still don't understand it myself. But without a doubt, a skull with hair was floating right there.
My brain went completely blank. As I stood there watching it calmly, wondering if it was some kind of promotional event, the skull glided smoothly toward an attractive woman nearby. Then it floated off with her and disappeared.
As I stood there wondering what on earth that was, I caught the eye of a woman standing in front of me. She walked up to me and asked, "Did you see that skull just now?" I gave a quick nod. "Looks like it possessed that pretty woman," she said. "That was a seriously dangerous spirit, so she's probably done for." With that, she simply walked away.
Ever since that day, I've decided to embrace my gloomy self with pride. Unpopular types like me get a bad rap and are easy targets for jokes, but it can't be all bad. By the way, I don't have a sixth sense or anything—that was the one and only time I've ever seen something strange.
